Since its inception, SALA's academy has employed the
SALA's communicative functional approach (SCFA) as a language education method.
This approach emphasises the use of language in authentic communication contexts. It's
based on the idea that trainees should be encouraged to go beyond rote memorising of grammar
and vocabulary in order to become fluent speakers of the language they're acquiring. The goal
of the SCFA is to provide trainees with the tools they need to communicate effectively in
real-world settings, as opposed to the more conventional focus on memorization and grammar.
